Try all the delicious food at the Blacksburg Farmers’ Market this Memorial Day. You can also shop for vintage items and unique crafts from vendors. The market is open on Saturday, May 25, and is located on Roanoke Street in Blacksburg.
Engage in Art Therapy
Go for an art therapy session at the Montgomery Museum of Art & History in Christiansburg. Art Therapist and Professional Counselor Shelby Wynn will facilitate a worry stone art class on May 25 at 10 a.m. Admission is free for a maximum of 25 persons in a session. Apart from this, there is a Felting Class in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The New River Art and Fiber is facilitating the class at the museum. Museum members can get a ticket for $35, while non-members can get it for $45.
Reflect at Hahn Horticulture Garden
Walk down memory lane at the Hahn Horticulture Garden. The botanical garden is within Virginia Tech. It is a calm spot to honor loved ones from the military. The area is full of greenery and vibrant blooms. A koi pond teeming with colorful fish and captivating artwork is also nearby. Entrance is free of charge.
Go Fishing at Pandapas Pond
Relax and go fishing at Pandapas Pond, an 8-acre man-made pond near Blacksburg. Watch out for sea turtles near the shore! Families can also enjoy hiking trails within the vicinity. There are picnic tables for families to dine and hang out.
