As with every other vibrant county, there are many annual events in Floyd County.
With a rich culture and history, Floyd County offers interesting events all year long. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, many annual events have been canceled permanently. This includes the much anticipated Tour de Floyd usually held during the month of May.
Still, here are some very popular annual events that we’re sure are going to happen in 2022, omicron willing!
Take a trip to the Yoga Jam Art Village and let your Freak Flag fly this September! Do you want to learn more about yoga? Or perhaps you’d like to broaden your yoga knowledge? The Floyd Yoga Jam is a must-add to your bucket list this year! Aside from yoga, there are more activities waiting for you here—from camping to hiking.
This is a 5-day music, and art festival tucked in southwest Virginia’s picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains. Every July, the Floydfest sets out to be the best music festival you’ll experience. Mark your calendar to celebrate music, art, and life in a magnificent setting. Don’t forget to pack your things, especially your tent!
Winterfest is one of the most sought-after annual events in Floyd County. It offers the widest array of handcrafted gifts from local artisans you’ll find at any one event. Local artisans and businesses decorate trees and wreaths, which are then sold in a silent auction. While the date for 2022 hasn’t been announced, the event is normally held in the first week of December in time for the Christmas buying season!
You can bid on your favorites at the event, but you have to be there to see the wreaths up close among all of the gorgeous trees!
The Floyd Artisan Trail June Trip is a 3-day tour that takes visitors to various locations in Floyd County. The date hasn’t been released yet so we’re not sure if it’s a go but wanted to mention it at least.
We hope that this list of the most anticipated annual events in Floyd County will interest you to visit the area. Each of these annual events should be exciting, fun-filled family days out, so be sure to add them all to your calendar! Floyd County is a very special place to call home.
The nearby towns in the New River Valley offer even more to see and do too! So be sure to plan a trip around these upcoming events.
