Why we call The NRV Home

Why we call The NRV Home….

Our Community

The New River Valley just feels like home. It’s a natural fit for the majority of residents. From the vast mountains lining the horizon to the beautiful river. The NRV is by far one of Virginia’s best treasures. The New River Valley is made up of four counties in Virginia, Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, and Pulaski. It’s towns include, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Dublin, Glen Lyn, Narrows, Pearisburg, Pembroke, Pulaski, and Rich Creek. Many choose to live in this area of Virginia for the intentional small town feel it gives.

Our Amenities

The New River Valley is home to an assortment of great amenities. Yes, there is plenty to do outdoors from hiking mountains to swimming in waterfalls, or tubing the river. There are also great local restaurants to stop by. The sports scene is also very big in this area, because we are home to Virginia Tech Football. If you would rather be inside at an art gallery, don’t worry we’ve got that too! We have the wonderful Moss Arts Center, which offers year round art exhibits. We are also home to many cultural events such as Floyd Fest, several local farmers markets, and The Lyric. Not to mention that we have three local college campuses.

Our Cost

The affordability of The NRV is a big reason why so many of our residents love to call this place home. People choose to do business here, work here, and live here primarily  because of the lower cost of living. We are 5.2% below the average U.S. cost of living. The average cost of a house in our area is 165,000 which is significantly lower priced than most of Virginia. Along with that price comes with neighbors who are priceless. The feel of community in The New River Valley is what makes this place home.

Our Houses

Most of our homes in The New River Valley are one of a kind. There are homes that were built a century ago and homes that were built a year ago. The NRV is bound to have the type of home for your family. We have priceless one of a kind older homes that have been restored with all of the old characteristics you and your family love, but with modern day necessities. We also have brand new neighborhoods that are great for younger families and people looking to not have to deal with as much upkeep. The NRV is home to wonderful realty companies that can help make your dream home a reality.

Our Hokies

When the fall semester begins, the students come back, and Hokie Football kicks-off. The tents get set up and college Football game day is back in session! Fans from all over Virginia flock to Blacksburg wearing maroon and orange to watch the game. The tradition of game day and being in Lane Stadium will always be a staple in The New River valley. Come winter time don’t worry there’s always basketball! Both Virginia Tech and Radford University have D1 basketball teams. Bring the family out and cheer on your local college teams. Watch as they make it to the tournaments and fight for their spots in March Madness.
