Scarecrow Festival

You probably have seen scarecrows on farms but not on the streets. The Scarecrow Festival in Pearisburg happens every October for pumpkin spice season. The Pearisburg Merchants Association kicks off the Festival with a parade of scarecrows. You can also see dog shows, live entertainment, and more.

This October 8th, Radford University is bringing back the fun and play in the fall season. The Highlanders Festival began in the 1900s with 3,000 people. The University is upholding this long-running tradition by incorporating the Scottish and Irish cultures into its activities. Some of these include Celtic folk music and Celtic clan-derived crafts, games, and food.
